I did what you said and found out that I need the driver for the ' ATI SB400 - AC'97 Audio Controller', but finding the driver without having to pay for one of the stupid DRIVER PROGRAMS has becomevery difficult. I even went to the ATI/AMD website, but I can't find it there either. Do you know where I might be able to find the driver without having to PAY FOR IT?Thank YouJohn CartwrightSeems odd. (No updates after February 2010.)A little Googling suggested some fixes, but they all looked a little dubious to me.I imagine that Windows Update has what you need, but getting it to install them may be a bit of a trick. I have a cheap Compaq laptop with an nVidia 8200M graphic chip. I had to install the Vista drivers initially. After that, Window Update worked, as didinstalling the drivers directly from nVidia. (I wish that notebook manufacturers stayed with generic device IDs, rtaher than customising them.) Unfortunately, Gateway provides no Vista drivers for you. Thank you very much for the quick answer.
