If you aren’t fond of isoHunt’s tribute, though, the team has released a tool that allows you to create your own version of The Pirate Bay, tweaking it to your heart’s content.Dubbed The Open Bay, the tool makes the source code of the isoHunt’s Pirate Bay tribute available, allowing anyone to make their own and release it on their own domain. While you’ll need some coding knowledge to pull off your own Pirate Bay, you won’t need to be a total expert, as the isoHunt tool has a few easy-to-follow steps and detailed instructions, all. The isoHunt team states that the shutdown of The Pirate Bay teaches a valuable lesson to the torrent community: in order to survive, copies need to be all over the place, ready to spring into action the moment a big site goes down. With The Open Bay, the isoHunt team hopes to achieve that goal, putting the ability to create a torrent site into anyone’s hands.The database on offer not only has torrents, but listings from isoHunt and KickassTorrents as well.

However, the new copies are not The Pirate Bay — just the listing — as the original torrent descriptions aren’t included, and users can’t upload or comment either.The Open Bay isn’t The Pirate Bay, but the isoHunt team hopes it’ll help immediately plug up the hole the next time a big site falls. If you decide to host your own copy, keep in mind that The Pirate Bay just got raided by law enforcement for doing that.
