Jet 4.0 Service Pack 8 Sp8 For Windows Xp

01.02.2020

I have run into an issue that I have never seen before. A program written in VB6.0 running on a Win2k machine writes an MSAccess DB file. This file is then deployed to 13 other machines that use the information from it. On the other Win2k machines, this works with no problems.

  1. Microsoft Jet Windows 10
  2. Jet 4.0 Service Pack 8 Sp8 For Windows Xp 64

However, 5 of the machines are new, and use WinXP. All of these machines are using the same version of MS Office (XP).

The data is written and read using Jet 4.0, the program doesn't even use MSAccess. On the WinXP machines, weare getting DB access faults during certain parts of our program, but not others (when it is also accessing this same database and table). The only fix I have found so far is that if I open the database using Access, then close it, the access faults go away.I don't open any of the tables, just the DB itself. I don't save it or anything else, just open it and then close it.

Microsoft Jet Windows 10

One other thing to note is that when the program is accessing this DB file, it changes nothing. But when opened and then closed in Access, the 'Last Modified' date and time stamp changes to current. Considering there are 13 computers with 32 databases that come from that 1 computer, and all 416 databases are different, opening and closing all of these files on a daily basis would bea full time job. Has anyone ever seen this problem, and is there an actual fix for it?Thank you in advance,Eric. Hi Eric,Thank you for posting on MSDN forum.According to your description, you want to fix an issue during using Jet 4.0 to get data from Access 2002.Is there any message popped up? If yes, what’s the message?Have you cheched release level of Jet 4.0 and Windows XP version?Base on, you can determine the current release level of Jet 4.0.If you are running Windows XP SP2, you have a later version of Jet 4.0 than the version that is included with Jet 4.0 SP8. We recommend that you install thelatest service pack for Windows XP.
