Java Version 6.11

11.01.2020

Thanks for the heads up lordglen.Probably no immediate need for this, but when you're hopelessly addicted to updating, what else can you do?I see some of you mentioned this removes the old version now.it's about time is right.Still, I can't help myself. I've been removing the old versions manually for so long, it's hard for me to change.Anyway, all is well here.As shown in dadkins screenshot above, I'm using a newer version now than the current version available on java.com.Now that's what I call hot off the press!Hehe.one other thing to note (in addition to the other usual java control panel tweaks), is that even if you disable auto-updates, jusched.exe continues to run.

Java Version 6.1

(Unchecking auto-updates in the past would always get rid of this). You can remove it manually in the registry:HKEYLOCALMACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRunOr you can use HijackThis.Or, one of the easiest methods of all, is to use the Tools section in CCleaner (startup).or a similar program, and delete the entire entry there.Well, there I go again.I tried to keep this post brief.Imagine if I hadn't tried? I just cannot make it work. Version 6.7 is the latest version that works for me. I do have both plugins active in Firefox and the BHO is active in IE but both of them fail to load the applet. All other applets I've tried including various version testers work fine.I tried completely ripping the old version.

Version

Deleted all folders and all registry entries, ran a registry cleaner.everything until there was no trace of Sun Java anywhere on my system. Then installed 6.11 and it simply will not load the applet. It will do everything else except load the DSLR speed test applet.I had the same problem with 6.10.

Java Version 6.29

I could not make it run the DSLR speed test.Using XP SP3 fully patched. Firefox 3.04 & IE6.
