Clockgen Pll
I can select an IC family that will let me see the clocks and adjust them, but it doesn't actually do anything. Is there a way to get Clockgen working with my system, or do I just need to wait for them to release a version of Clockgen that is compatible with Vista?editNow I can't even get the PLL Setup or PLL Control buttons to appear. I deleted it and downloaded the EXE again, but the buttons are still gone. Maybe I need to restart or something.but it looks like I'm SOL for Clockgen because I'm not installing XP just to o/c.
And after using something like Clockgen, BIOS overclocking is a huge hassle. Are there ANY on-the-fly overclocking apps like Clockgen out there? It's kind of hard to believe that there is only one program out there that is capable of such things. Clockgen is only dangerous if you're not careful. I never had any bad experiences with it on my old system.
Clockgen Supported Pll
I'll take a little lower clocks as opposed to: set BIOS settings, run some tests. Set BIOS settings, run some tests. Set BIOS settings, run some tests. Reboot.etc, etc, etc.I wasn't aware that overclocking through the BIOS results in higher clocks vs. Clockgen, but it's not worth it to me unless the difference is quite substantial. If you tell me I can get another 200 MHz by using the BIOS, then I'll certainly consider taking a look at it.
